Our Programmes
Three programmes, each with a clear purpose and a defined outcome
Each programme is designed for a specific kind of financial learning need. The descriptions below explain what each one involves, how it is delivered, and what it costs.
Back to HomeHow the studio works
Every programme at Ravel Studio starts with a short introductory exchange — by email or phone — to understand what brings you here and whether the programme you are considering is a reasonable fit for your situation. If it is not, the studio will say so.
Sessions are conducted either in person at the studio in Taman Bukit Kempas, Johor Bahru, or online via a private video call. In either format, the pace is set in part by the participant — questions are expected, and the session does not move on until the material is clear.
The interval between sessions in a multi-session programme is not a scheduling choice but a design feature. Applying what was discussed in the first session — in your actual household, with your actual commitments — gives the second session something concrete to work with.
After the final session of any programme, participants have a follow-up period during which they can send questions by email. This is included in the programme fee.
Programme 1 · Two sessions · One-to-one
Small Saving Threads
A two-session programme helping adults design three small, maintainable saving threads — a short thread for irregular household expenses, a medium thread for a one- to two-year goal, and a long thread for open-ended longer-horizon saving.
Each thread is sized to be comfortably affordable alongside current commitments. Sessions are spaced three weeks apart so that the first two weeks of practice can be reviewed in the second session.
What the programme covers
- Mapping current household income and regular outgoings
- Identifying a realistic saving capacity for each thread
- Naming and defining each thread's purpose clearly
- Review of the first two weeks of practice in session two
- Written summary of the three threads for your own reference
Session sequence
First session — current position, goals, and thread design (approx. 90 minutes)
Three-week interval for practice at home
Second session — review of the practice period, adjustments, and written summary (approx. 60 minutes)
RM 490

Reading Financial News With Care
A four-session small-group programme for adults who read financial news regularly and would like a calmer, more critical framework for interpreting what they read. Not a market-calling service — entirely educational.
Groups are kept to a maximum of eight participants so that questions and discussion are possible in each session. The facilitator for this programme has a background in financial journalism.
What the four sessions cover
Market commentary vs personal financial planning — why the distinction matters and how to make it quickly
Reading a headline figure in context — what the number actually measures, and what it does not
Common phrasings that mislead readers about risk — with worked examples from real news coverage
Building a small monthly reading habit — what to read, how to note it, and how to keep it from becoming anxious
- Maximum eight participants per group
- Reading materials shared before each session
- No investment advice, no market calls
RM 1,420

Programme 3 · Three months · Household
Household Finance Story
A three-month engagement in which the household and the facilitator together write a plain-language written story of the household's financial life up to now and its considered intentions for the coming three years.
The final document is short — usually four or five pages — deliberately readable, and intended as a reference document the household returns to at its own pace. It is not a financial plan, a forecast, or a recommendation.
The engagement structure
Listening session — the facilitator listens to both household members describe their financial life in their own words (approx. 2 hours)
Working session on current position — income, outgoings, assets, and what the household has described as significant (approx. 90 minutes)
Working session on considered intentions — what the household has described as its direction over the next three years, written in their own language
Closing reading session — the facilitator reads the draft document aloud with the household and finalises the text together
- Suitable for two-adult households
- Two-instalment payment available on request
- Document belongs entirely to the household
RM 3,750
